download very low since 4.8.2 hi and thanks for the great job you did with xtreme mod: i use it for several month and it's really rock!!:clap german teams are amazing on this point (and for servers too:yes: ) but.....since i upgrade to 4.8.2, my upload is still great (52 Ko/s) but, for reason i don't understand, my download is stucked at 1-2 kb/s ....(instead of the 200 KB i used to...) all my ports are opened, and i did'nt change anything in my config.... i scanned for spyware/trojan/virus with no result... The point is that i see it negociate connexions, but most of them are blocked to 0kB, and then the client is lost.... it's like xtreme mods were blacklisted! and, when i see my verbose/anti leech log, i get several "xtreme failed download ban".... i don't know what to do anymore...:cry: please help me or advise if it's a known issue with 4.8.2 (i know 3 other people using 4.8.2, in the same case, and we're all CLUB ISP, the T-ONLINE french ISP) |
please check out your firewall-settings... at some firewalls you have to apply your permissions to the new emule.exe |
thanks but as incredible as it seems, i don't use any firewall, not even the KROSOFT one....i never had any problem...untill this one! my only firewall is hardware (modem hitachi/tecom), and i fix ports rights for emule here's what i typically get: http://img334.imageshack.us/img334/8...shot1jz.th.jpg the 0KB/s ones stay in this state for, say , about a minute, and is dead (killed?) any idea? |
hmmm.. suspicious... I didn't change anything in 4.8.2 which could cause this problem. Which was the last Xtreme-version where the problem didn't occur ? And one more question: are this clients with the failed downloadsessions normal (/official) clients or any mods ? (e.g. nickname [KOR]pruna) |
thanks to wondering my problem! the last 4.8.1 was quite rocksolid and flawless! but i can't find it anywhere for download....it again! for the client type, all 0.47a seems to be problematic, 0.46c some not and others ok! i can't really see " a rule" related to nickname... so many!!!! |
you can download the 4.8.1 version at www.xtreme-mod.net at the download-section. It would be the best you try out the last version to verify that this behaviour is releated to xtreme 4.8.2. (simply replace the emule.exe) |
thanks, i'll give it a try ASAP !!! stay tuned.... |
Hey dudes, I've just downloaded 4.8.2, and I now have this really weird prob.. My NAV2005 asks for my "Permit" ALL THE TIME! I've clicked the damn OK button at least a 100 times, even on the NAV's "Internet Worm Protection" on the programs list, eMule Xtreme appears, yet it won't stop asking for my damn permission. Anyone has an idea? |
guess what? reverting to 4.8.1 fix all my DL issue! i can't figure why....but it works! |
Possible bug in Credit system Hi guys! First of all, excuse me for using English, but my German is less than basic :( I've been using Xtreme mod for around 1 month and I think it's quite good. There are a few features I like over other mods. Good job! However, I've detected something in the credit system that I think it could be improved. As you explain in your website, there's a bonus system exclusive of Xtreme; this bonus can take a negative value under the conditions you specify: "a client can get a negative bonus of 0,1(0,2) if you gave him more than 1(2) chunk(s) (9,28MB) this session and also at complete comparsion of download/upload without geting something back" The fact is that I've found quite a few clients with statistics like this: Downloaded this session (from me): 250Kb Total downloaded (from me): 34.5Mb Total uploaded (to me): 1.2Mb I was in his queue asking for one of his files and I was advancing quite slowly. I don't know you, but I would call him a leecher. However, when I checked his bonus it was +0.0!!!! and the b...d was downloading!!! I checked your source file ClientCredits.cpp and found this: float CClientCredits::GetScoreRatio(const CUpDownClient* client) { (.......) // Cache value const uint64 downloadTotal = GetDownloadedTotal(); // Check if this client has any credit (sent >1MB) const float difference2=(float)client->GetTransferredUp() - client->GetTransferredDown(); if(downloadTotal < 1000000) <--------------------------------------------------- Why???? { if ( difference2 > (2*PENALTY_UPSIZE)) m_bonusfaktor=(-0.2f); else if (difference2 > PENALTY_UPSIZE) m_bonusfaktor=(-0.1f); else m_bonusfaktor=0; return (1.0f + m_bonusfaktor); } (....) difference=abs(difference); if (difference> (2*PENALTY_UPSIZE) && difference2 > (2*PENALTY_UPSIZE)) <----------- Why AND and not OR m_bonusfaktor=(-0.2f); else if (difference>PENALTY_UPSIZE && difference2 > PENALTY_UPSIZE) <----------- Why AND and not OR (...) Well, I know very little of eMule features and even less of your code, but I think that the lines I've remaked could have something to do with the problem I described before. Is there any special reason for them to be like that? Could they be changed to prevent that problem? I would welcome very gratefully your reply on this subject. Thanks for your mod!!! DemonSkull |
Zitat:
I had the same problem when I installed Xtreme in my girlfriend's PC and I managed to fix it. I can't remember exactly how I did it, as I've got a different firewall and it was some time ago. However, I think that what I did was to remove emule.exe from the list of programs managed by the firewall. Then, when I tried next to run emule.exe, the firewall asked me what to do, but only once!! then everything went smooth. Give it a try. DemonSkull |

i switched to 4.8.1, and sadly problem is back, and seem to deal with antileech thing... here's what i typically get from leechers's log: "05/02/2006 02:55:29: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'http://emule-project.net' (eMule v0.46c,None/None/None) 05/02/2006 03:05:21: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'http://emule-project.net' (eMule v0.46c,None/None/None) 05/02/2006 03:06:45: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'Julie {rPotUAI}' (eMule v0.46c [iONiX v4.4],None/OnUploadQueue/None) 05/02/2006 03:09:34: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'Li()Network.Net eMule v5.3' (eMule v0.46a [L!()Netw0rk eMule 5.3],None/OnUploadQueue/None) 05/02/2006 03:10:51: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'http://emule-project.net' (eMule v0.46c,None/OnUploadQueue/None) 05/02/2006 03:13:50: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (shareaza.com)' (eMule Compat v2.2.1,None/OnUploadQueue/None) 05/02/2006 03:15:36: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'Lord' (eMule v0.46b,None/OnUploadQueue/None) 05/02/2006 03:16:38: XTREME Failed-Download-Ban: Client ***** 'moimoimoiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' (eMule v0.47a,None/Uploading/None) each xtreme failure result in many download sessions killed, and despite my +1000 sources (that i usually manage with no hurts) my DL never exceed 10 KB/s...quite boring! and my ratio tend to 14:1, that's making me just a supernode for UL... [edit by Pathfinder: Client IP-adresses have to be removed from log-postings] |
@pieroboy I don't have any idea what's going wrong at you. Most important is: the upload must be stable (white or yellow graph-line). If it is stable the only thing I can imagine is, that your provider is filtering out some packets. Try out the official emule if it works for you. @Demonskull Zitat:

Example1: the other client uploaded me 1 GB. I don't want to give it a negative score after giving back one chunk Example2: One month ago I uploaded to this client 1 GB (maybe I released a file).. I don't want to punish this client! The negative bonusfactor should only be session-based. @Epsilon: you have to disable "Internet Worm Protection" |
Hi Xman, I understand your position, although I'm not yet sure if I share it, I have to think about it. The thing is that my download rarely goes over 10kbs (being the mean value around 5kbs), while my upload is always around 30kbs, so I'm a litle bit upset. I'm trying to find the reason for that U/D asymmetry. You mentioned the possibility of the ISP filtering some packets. Is that a common practise? can it be avoided somehow? Thanx for your help and your prompt reply!! DemonSkull |
coding a creditsystem, you always should care of that it won't become a trading system. I know only some german ISP which thottles p2p traffic... but there are also non german ISPs. You can look at a emule board of your country to find that out... or have a look at emule-project.net PS: in some cases it's enough to change the emule ports. |
