Emule 0.49b Beta1

About 0.49b:

Barely two months have passed, and yet another new eMule version is on the horizont. 0.49b continues to complete the agenda of its predecessor in the 0.49 series. This means further optimizations for Kad and more important immunity against recently researched routing attacks (URL to follow), several improvements of the GUI for Vista users, a new UPnP implementation and fixing of an important bug introduced with the last version.

As a reminder, the mainfeatures of the 0.49 series are

* Major Kad protocol improvements, like kad obfuscation, better NAT handling, direct callbacks, flood protections, protection against routing attacks, etc.
* Several changes to the message system to get rid of spammers (by Captchas) and stay in touch with friends with dynamic IPs
* Several GUI improvements like storing searches between eMule sessions, a searchfilter for shared files, improved Vista support, etc
* A reworked and improved UPnP implementation
* And as always fixing bugs and adding other small changes

.: Several changes were made to Kad in order to defy routing attacks researched by University of Minnesota guys [Peng Wang, James Tyra, Eric Chan-Tin, Tyson Malchow, Denis Foo Kune, Nicholas Hopper, Yongdae Kim], in particular:
.: Kad contacts will only be able to update themself in others routing tables if they provide the proper key (supported by 0.49a+ nodes) in order to make it impossible to hijack them
.: Kad uses now a three-way-handshake (or for older version a similar check) for new contacts, making sure they do not use a spoofed IP
.: Unverified contacts are not used for routing tasks and a marked with a special icon in the GUI

.: When calculating the total user count, Kad now uses (if available) the real number of firewalled clients for the calculation instead a fixed value. This will take more effect when 0.49+ nodes become common

Sehr schön, dass man sich mittlerweile so sehr auf die Verbesserung von Kad konzentriert. Hoffentlich ziehen die aMule-Macher diesmal etwas schneller hinterher.

Ist das Kad-verliert-nach-paar-Minuten-Verbindung-Prob zwischenzeitlich gelöst worden? Treibt mir nämlich schon den Blutdruck hoch, wenn ich in aMule die ganzen Leecher Mods in meinem Upload sehe.

Das ist fast zu Off Topic

Egal, ihr hattet da auch schon mal hier irgendwo drüber geredet glaube ich, also ich kann soviel sagen mit der Entwicklerversion von Wine funktioniert eMule bis auf minimale Kleinigkeiten vollständig.

Ich hab allerdings grade Probleme mit meiner Festplatte unter Windows krieg ich Fehlerhafte Sektoren Meldungen im eMule Betrieb und eMule mault auch - Ubuntu sagt gar nichts und eMule über ubuntu und wine auf der gleichen Partition und den gleichen Temp und Incoming Ordner auch nicht, stürzt aber manchmal ab.
Ich möchte wine ungern fälschlicher Weise die Schuld dafür geben, solange ich mich nicht um die Platte gekümmert habe.

Ich hatte mit eMule unter Wine auch keine Probs bis auf die Sache mit Kad, aber das war auch schon mit das schlimmste was passieren konnte, deshalb aMule.

Ubuntu hat soweit ich weiß keine Routinen, welche die Platte checken (nicht wie bei SuSe). Guck mal hier.

Und die Mods können froh sein, dass hier wieder mal welche miteinander reden

Haste nicht unrecht - SMART sacht es ist alles ok, chksk unter Win findet einiges und behebt es, es einstehen aber nach einigen Tagen neue Fehler. Die Platte ist bestimmt hin

Jedenfalls läuft der aktuelle Xtreme Mod mit wine gut, auch NAFC (komischer Weise?)! Selten stürzt er Meldungslos ab was aber auch an meinem Problem liegen kann.

Dochdoch ubuntu überprüft auch ab und zu alle x mal wen man bootet die system partition. Aber es kann kein NTFS also Windows Partitionen überprüfen und erstellen (aber benutzen).

Die SMART-Werte sagen nicht unbedingt was über defekte Sektoren aus sondern eher über Beschädigungen am Lesearm etc. Wenn du das Prog installiert hast gib mal folgendes im Terminal ein:

Beachte, dass die Konsole nach dem eingeben sofort wieder freigegeben wird, der Test läuft still im Hintergrund ab und dauert Sau lange, wird angegeben wann er ungefähr fertig ist.

Da wird das Dateisystem geprüft, nicht nach mechanische Beschädigungen gesucht.

Also in Hessen und Rheinland-Pfalz fingen die Sommerferien am 23.6. an und enden dort am 1.8., die in Bayern fangen erst am 4.8. an und enden am 15.9. und dazwischen liegen noch die Sommerferien von 13 weiteren Bundesländern.
